How to Use a Cheers Ice Tray for Party Ice

Quick Answer

Use the Cheers Ice Tray to make four large, legible word ice cubes by filling the silicone mold, freezing, and inverting to release—no rinsing required.

How to Use the Cheers Ice Tray

1. Fill the Tray: Fill each word cavity with water. Use filtered or boiled water for clearer ice. Do not overfill—leave a tiny gap at the top so the letters form cleanly. Overfilling can cause the letters to blur or the tray to warp.
2. Freeze Level: Place the filled tray on a flat freezer shelf. Keep it level so water distributes evenly inside each letter. Freeze for at least 6 hours or until solid. A tilted tray produces uneven ice that may not release cleanly.
3. Release the Ice: Remove the tray from the freezer. Invert it over your glass or a plate and gently press the back of each cavity. The cubes should pop out without rinsing. If cubes stick, let them sit at room temperature for 30 seconds—do not run under hot water or the letters may melt.
4. Serve and Store: Place one word cube per glass for a bold toast. Store any unused cubes in a sealed freezer bag to prevent them from absorbing odors. Word ice cubes melt slower than small cubes, so they last longer in drinks.
