The flexible silicone makes popping out these large cubes so easy, and they really do melt slower than regular ice. My whiskey stays chilled without getting watered down, which is exactly what I wanted. The flavor-guard lids are a nice bonus for keeping the freezer smell out.

I was skeptical about the silicone lid at first, but it really does keep the ice from absorbing freezer smells. The cubes are huge and last twice as long in my soda water.

Those 1.5" cubes are perfect for my bourbon—they melt way slower than the skinny freezer tray ones I used to deal with. The flavor-guard lid actually stays put, so no weird smells from the freezer creeping in.
